Living
Memorializations Sentiment, friends remembered, leadership figures much
admired, sports greats, journalism, movie stars, family - all figure
in our "living memorializations," their stories piggy-backed
on educational assistance profile our agenda. A scholarship winner in
the years to come will probably wonder about the names, might even be
inspired by some of them, what they did, and may be curious enough to
ask about them. Each time that happens, the "names" will know
a kind of resurrection.

Initially,
it was to be a one-time thing, the Kinman-Oldfield Scholarship Fund,
but when we found out how easy it was, the imaginative juices began
to bubble. The endowment securities we'd given grew in value, as did
their income, so we decided to make that fund the umbrella to which
we would attach all manner of appendages.
