A year later, Todd moved here to begin a career in Hollywood as a film and television producer and director, and his lunches and regular mail exchanges with Barney fostered a lasting friendship between them. |
 In 1992, with the help of Lucy Buntain and the University of Nebraska Foundation, Todd realized a longtime dream to form a networking alliance of Nebraskans working in entertainment. They called their organization the Nebraska Coast Connection and it has grown from the original 30 of Todd's friends to a group of over 2000 industry professionals. |
Todd
Nelson, a Nebraska native and UN-L Broadcasting and Theatre graduate,
first met Barney in 1983 on a visit to Los Angeles. They had lunch
at Litton Industries where Barney welcomed him and regaled him with
stories of his Hollywood beginnings.
